No im not talking about cosmetic surgery, what I am saying to all you followers is that I was asked out from a Man who thought I was pretty girl, couldn't believe my age (real) and even when he was told that I haven't had the op and wouldn't have sex, he was still interested and he was only in he's 30's..
truth from the start helps, I suppose?
Not cosmetic surgery...?
Truth from the start certainly helps but I'm not sure what you're on about. Someone asked you out and you're surprised? Perhaps you should raise you're self-esteem a little. What op is it you haven't had? Is it a sex change? If not then what has it got to do with whether or not you have sex? I'm confused! Still, I'm glad for you being happy. You are happy aren't you?

Reply:what, your question is fragmented into a nonsensical ramble
Reply:What op?
Reply:Haven't had the op? Do you mean you're a transexual then? Or are we just talking about age. Sorry if I'm still getting the wrong end of the stick (as it were!!) but if we are talking about age, women today are ageing much better than they used to. Not smoking makes a big difference, and many skin creams etc contain really helpful anti ageing agents which women are now using from their twenties. Better stop now and wait to see if I got it right this time!!
Reply:Really confused, do not understand wot u r saying
Reply:that's great
Reply:How old are you? what "op" are you talking about? are you a man? what ever the answer to these questions it is best to tell the truth from the start, no chance then of recriminations later hey ?!!
Reply:Well all i know is if any bloke i knew was with you without you telling them that you had boy-bits, they'd be none too happy when they found out. You may as well be honest and save yourself (and him) the trauma of a 'crying game' moment

Is cosmetic surgery teaching a good self-image to youngsters?
is cosmetic surgery teaching a good self-image to youngsters? expalin why yes or no.
Is cosmetic surgery teaching a good self-image to youngsters?
No it is not.
Cosmetic surgery tells young people that there is something wrong with how they look naturally, and that they need to change themselves.
The cosmetic surgery is based around people feeling bad about themselves. If people didn;t feel bad about the way they looked then they wouldnt want to get the cosmetic surgery.
Reply:I don't think so. It makes them feel that IT IS NECESSARY to have a nose lift, a tan, lipo or anything. I think it lowers their self-esteem more and makes it hard for them to accept themselves
Reply:i would never even consider a fake tan let alone surgury
Reply:no. you should be happy with the body God gave you. you shouldn't go aroudn changing it and if you want to look better they need to teach us to each right and excercise.

If cosmetic surgery was free would you have it?
if cosmetic surgery was free would you have it done and what would you have done?
would it put you off if you had to watch it being done to someone elce and you had to be in the actual theatre before you could have it done
If cosmetic surgery was free would you have it?
If I knew that the Dr performing the surgery was a professional and was trully qualified, I would have no problem having surgery to correct/improve certain body parts.
If the surgery involved having someone watching me having surgery I would have no problem. And I have no problem looking at other people having surgery done on them.
About 10 yrs ago there was a program on The Learning Channel called "The Operation". It showed a complete surgery from beginning to end in all it's glory gore. I always found it fascinating rather than disgusting, however, my family members nearly passed away choking every time the show was on.
I have always found medicine amazing!

i do however understand why people receive this treatment e.g. if they have any scars or disabilities. under these circumstances i believe this is acceptable.

Reply:No... never... despite many accidents and NDEs... in the words of friends:
Considering all you've been through in your life, you look years younger than your age.
At 61, rising 62, for some reason folks think I'm in my late forties... yet I see rising 62 in my mirror... and I'm quite content.
Beauty... if beauty it is, comes from within... not on the surface, and I've never really had a hangup about looks.
I was offered it after a serious car crash when US Airman shot across my path in an American car. He cut across a main road, as I was doing 65mph back in 1973. I was on my final driving lesson before my test. they offered PS and I refused it.
Because, the scars on my forehead and chin, reminded me of God's intervention and the gift of giving back my life, directly after I called out to him in public at the scene, for the first time in my life I owned Him publicly. Those scars are still with me, smaller, more faded, but for some strange reason, few people ever seemed to notice them.
In much the same way, they seldom notice my twisted arthritic fingers, and when I ask they tell me, "You're so cheerful and friendly... you just don't see them, you see only you."
It's all about your attitude to life, and for me personally, it's about my faith... God provides every time I ask... He's saved my life so many times, from under the wheels of a Tarmac lorry aged eight... and through serious complicated illnesses and birthings that went wrong... far too many times to count, He's kept me safe, and people strangely think I'm much younger all the time, because I believe, they see His love shining through me... and not adornments... which is just as well, because I can't wear rings, even though I love them, since too many had to be cut off my hands due to sudden swelling of a joint.
They said I'd be in a wheelchair by the age of 50... since arthritis started when I was twenty-three... they said it to me way back in 1987... well I'm not, because, I refuse to BE my arthritis, or my scars... I'm me... and I'm staying on my feet as long as God allows:-)
Don't be a copy of another, don't be vain and try to hold back time, since the more you do, the more age happens in your mind... and it's all about your mind and attitude to life... youth, is in us all until the very end... the person you once were as a child, a teen, a twenties and a thirties, is still you... so go on, ignore the youth merchants who only make capital on your fears of ageing... and wear your wrinkles and your scars and your grey, with pride, you've earned them all... I darn well know I have;-)
And the world will only see your youth and marvel at the way you keep on coming back;-)
PS... I went on to pass my test and am in my 34th year of clean driving... not one point (UK) or fine, or claim against my insurance, in all that time;-)
Reply:No. I do not consider myself in need of artificial enhancement or major corrections.
There are some people who through genetics or accident may really require corrective surgery. I wish them and their surgeons well in their efforts.
People who have elective surgery done to support some whim or to seek a beauty which is not really theirs are a different matter. These tend toward vanity, arrogance, self deception and worse. High prices does not seem to be a deterrent. I doubt that making them watch a procedure would have much of an effect either.
Cosmetic surgery as an elective is being sold in much the same way as applied cosmetics were in the past. Some people buy into the concept and some do not.
Reply:Cosmetic surgery can also be an option following severe accidents/burns/beatings; it can be an option after losing a large amount of weight; it can be an option for birth defects/other congenital anomalies. It's not always a 'nose job'.
SO- if nothing happens to me (accident/obesity and subsequent weight loss) I'm quite content with myself the way I am. Some folks have a condition that becomes more pronounced with age where their eyelids gradually obscure their vision. Cosmetic surgery is the 'fix' for that; I mention this specifically because my mom seems to have it. Therefore, under certain circumstances, I would have it whether it were free or not!
Having said that, I think I'd have it done whether or not I had to be in the operating room (theatre) helping/watching someone else's surgery. Yes, I've heard it's 'nasty' but in the event that I would actually choose to have it, I would need it, so would go ahead with it (and, yes, I'd probably be out cold on the floor most of the time)!
In general, I would not have it, but can't say, "No, never" because things happen that change how you feel about certain things...
Reply:right now, i would not have cosmetic surgery, but if i had third degree burns all over my face from a fire, or i was in a horrible car accident where i lost my nose and eye and ear, and other horrifying accidents that could happen to me or any one, i would have cosmetic surgery.

What do people want cosmetic surgery?
What are some questions about cosmetic surgery that people are interested in knowing? how do they afford it?
I need a narrowed down topic about cosmetic surgery that is interesting. Any other ideas?
What do people want cosmetic surgery?
Cosmetic surgery is not as expensive as you might think. Almost all of the patients I care for a regular, working class/middle class people. Instead of taking a vacation, they get new boobs or a normal looking nose. Some people finance it.
How about cosmetic procedures used after huge weight loss? We do abdominoplasties, mastopexies and brachioplasties for people who have lost a lot of weight and have a bunch of extra skin hanging on them. They are some fo the happiest patients I see.
Reply:I am an assistant to one of the surgeons in a large plastic/reconstructive surgery office. We see patients for medical reasons as well as cosmetic. We see patients for lesion excisions, hand injuries, hand/finger pain, lacerations, reconstruction following mastectomy, scar revisions, tissue expander insertions, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), face lifts, neck lifts, mastopexy (breast lift), breast augmentation (implants), rhinoplasty (nose surgery), blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), liposuction, body lifts for patients who have had gastric bypass surgery. The body contouring/reshaping may include removing excess skin from the arms and legs, thigh lifts, body lifts. We also see patient for breast reductions.
Some conditions can be submitted to the insurance company for pre-approval to see if they can be considered medical but that process takes 6-8 weeks. For patients that can't afford ir otherwise, it's worth the wait to see if they would cover it. Such conditions can be abdominoplasty for weight loss, painful or bleedng keloids, painful or bleeding scars, breast reductions.
One procedure that sems to be the most popular, least expensive and makes a huge diffeence in the appearance is eyelid surgery and it can be done in the surgeon's office. I had it done 3 years ago and it took years off my appearance. I have also had Restylane injections for the folds from the nose to the outer corners of the mouth and Botox on my forehead, between the eyes and outr corners of the eyes. It smooths everything out and much less noticiable wrinkles.
Prices can range from $500 for Botox and fillers to $10,000.00 for a facelift and that's for the surgeon only. We charge about $2500.00 for upper and lower eyelids. Alot of patients finance their procedures or just save up until they can do it. So many people are so happy and it does change peoples' lives.
The downside is patient unrealistic expectations from the surgery. They watch too many makeover shows and the reality is....you won't look 20, especially if you're 40, an abdominoplasty/lipo usually doesn't produce washboard abs unless you watch your diet afterwards and excercise. You aren't going to look like a runway model but you most likely will feel so much better about your self and have more self confidence. The surgeons try to make a person look as good as they can for their age.

Having cosmetic surgery with a mr. Ciaschi - anyone else had this surgeon before?
I am having cosmetic surgery in May to remove a bump on my nose through The Harley Medical Group.
I have met my surgeon and although i was perfectly happy with him i would love to know how someone got on with him through the surgery. His name is Mr. Ciaschi (i think his first name is Andre) - can't quite remember.

Which cosmetic line is the best? Mary Kay or Avon? Why?
My mom has sold Avon in the past and is now selling Mary Kay now which cosmetic and skin care line is the best?
Which cosmetic line is the best? Mary Kay or Avon? Why?
I used to sell Mary Kay. I think it's better and I still use several products (tho' not all). I think Avon has more perfume in it and that breaks me out.
Tell your mom to go to the meetings and follow the sales advice (pitch the $250 complete set or whatever exactly like they tell you to). It's the only way to be successful in MK.
Good luck to her and you! :)
Reply:Mary Kay is better to me quality wise but Avon is way more afforable for the average person.
Reply:i love mary kay. i think that mary kay has more to offer for cosmetic and skin then avon.
Reply:I would say Mary Kay only because they do more hands-on things and let you try out the product. I am always reluctant to try new Avon products because I cannot test them first. Especially foundation and stuff like that.
Reply:Well, it depends on your budget...
Mary Kay is far better than Avon but avon is more affordable... and its quality is not that bad.....
Reply:AVON IS CHEEP
Reply:I would say Avon. The products are less expensive. They also have lots of different products.
Reply:I think Avon
Reply:i used to sell both too-- I personally think that Mary Kay is a better line - due to the fact there products have better quality and color selections.
Reply:I prefer Mary Kay. I have tried both Avon and MK, as well as Lancome, Clinique, MAC Bare Escentials, etc. and Mary was the best for me, skincare and cosmetic. I started selling MK because I use so many of their products and really believe in the business. By the way, it isn't a pyramid or multi-level marketing business; It is dual-marketing.
Reply:I am an Avon Representative, but I have never tried Mary Kay. Avon does cost less, but it doesn't mean it isn't any good. Personally, I love the products and use alot of the products, from the shower gel to the hair spray (and everything in between). I believe both lines have good products, but it depends on your own skin type. You should try to get two weeks worth of skin care samples of comparative Avon and Mary Kay products. It takes a few days to see if the product really works (neither line is a miracle worker). As for the cosmetics, I would say try them both and see what's best for you. I don't know about Mary Kay, but Avon has a 100% guarantee on everything they sell, so if the makeup or skin care isn't what you expected, you can return it for a full refund. What works for one person, may not work for someone else. Hope this helps.

my ears are very sensitive and i lost my good sterling silver hoops among all my other cosmetic hoops. How do i differ the two types? is sterling silver attracted to something that cosmetic jewelry would not? etc.

sterling silver will have a very small stamp somewhere that says .925, fine silver will have a.999 and if they are plated the stamp will have a P on the end or no stamp at all.

New cosmetic brush set....and no clue how to use it.?
For Christmas, I received a lovely 8 piece cosmetic brush set, compact included, made by The Color Workshop. The brushes are not labeled, but a message on the packaging says it includes:
sponge applicator
lip brush
blush brush
powder brush
fan dusting brush
finishing brush
shading brush
If anyone could describe which is which and explain what each does, or give me a link to a website that could give me simple instructions on how to use them, I would be very grateful. Thank you!

Buying cosmetic lenses?
Can cosmetic contact lenses be bought at local opticians?
Buying cosmetic lenses?
Yes they do, it also depends if they have it in stock. But even if they don't they'll order it for you!
Reply:mhm, you have to ask specially for them and they'll get them
Reply:Yes.
Reply:you dont want them, they are cool and all, but after youve gone into the light it takes a really long time for them to go clear again when you go back inside. i have a few friends that have them and they all say they suck.
Reply:yes it can you can usually pick some up at retail store like walmarts vision center. But to have them you have to have an eye exam perscription or you won't be able to purchuse.
Reply:yes, you can get them from your local opticians. they have the lenses in different colours as well.

Reply:Hi, I guessed you are a first time user for contact lens, right? Yes , you can get them from local optical shop and please get a qualify optometrist to get your eyes check and have them to help/teach you on putting and removing the lenses (you dont wish to hurt/damage your eyes cornea, right?) Then they will prescribe the right degree for your eyes need.
Cosmetic lens will be slightly blurred if you look on the side way, but if you look straight it will be clear vision. This are normally for party usage, if for everyday use I would recommend clear lens (daily or bi-weekly the best!) You can try Freshkons (monthly lens) which means you have to buy contact lens solution to clean and keep the lens for a month (after a month you have to throw it away), they are popular for their cosmetic lenses. But if you want to have a look of biGGer eyes, you can try Acuvue Define lenses (daily lens). I wont recommend you to wear more than 12hrs as cosmetic lens tend to be drier than normal clear lens.
Hope this information can help you! Take good care of your beautiful eyes too while wearing cosmetic lenses. All the Best! =)

India Cosmetic Surgery?
has ANYONE had cosmetic surgery done in India that lives in the US due to their rediculously 80% cheaper price...?? and how did it go
India Cosmetic Surgery?
Cosmetic surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Tour2india4health Consultants .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.
Tour2india4health Consultants is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Considering getting my eyebrows cosmetic tattaooed on - any probs?
I have dark hair on my eyebrows but not enough and they loook patchy, I'm soo over colouring them in everyday and want to get cosmetic tattooing on them. Any one have any problems with cosmetic tattoooing?
Considering getting my eyebrows cosmetic tattaooed on - any probs?
There is no problem whatsoever.. my friends mom had her eyebrows tattooed and they looked great, and natural.. go for it..
Reply:Cosmetic tattoos aren't permanent, the ink can fade or you could possibly get an infection. You're better off continuing to pencil in or brush in your brows.
If you feel you MUST get cosmetic tattooing, at least ask to see the person's previous work in his or her portfolio.
Reply:No personal experience, but tattoos are always dangerous, and I wouldn't get permanent makeup. You're face shape will change as you age and it may end up looking odd... I wouldn't do it. Talk to your doctor though.
Reply:I haven't had mine done but my aunt and her mother have gotten their eye liner done . It looks really great and they haven't had any problems. I figure getting your brows done is basically the same process so i bet you have nothing to worry about. I say go for it, penciling in every morning has to get old!
Reply:If you do, make sure you keep on plucking your current eyebrows to fit the line, otherwise they will look un-natural and just plain out weird. But, if you groom them right, it will look natural.
Reply:It looks fake no matter how proficient the artist is.
Reply:I have my eyebrows done. If you do get a experienced tattoo artist that specializes in cosmetic tattooing. Do you research, their are a lot of people who think the know what they are doing.
Generally it takes more then one session, more so with eye liner. It looks more natural if you get tattooed like it is hair, small lines that look like hair instead of one big line. Get something that you can be comfortable with everyday that matches you natural hair color.(From your head, not necessarily your brows.)
Reply:I have dark brown hair and hardly any eyebrows. They've always been too light, but I over plucked them back in the 7th grade. I have to pencil mine in everyday as well, and it's getting a bit annoying. I plan to get them done. I found this site, and there are quite a few before and after photos. I really like the way the artist does them, the hair strokes look great. It's definitely the most natural way I've seen them done. Just make sure you pick someone who knows what they're doing, after all this will be done on your face. As for the girl who said that it looks fake no matter what....that was unnecessary. Her eyebrows are probably just fine. I'd rather have fake eyebrows then to look like I have none at all. It will look the same as penciling them in, except you won't have to do it everyday. Oh, that site with the photos is: http://www.absolute-perfection.biz/eye_b...
Good luck!

BENEFIT cosmetic discount codes needed for shopping online?
Hey guys and gals, I am trying to earn myself a discount for the wonderful cosmetic brand 'BENEFIT', the website is www.benefitcosmetics.co.uk
I purchased some stuff yesterday from there and got a free makeup bag, and in a separate transaction used my more magazine discount codes which were 'MOREDELI' for free delivery and 'MOREOFFR' for 15% discount. I tried using the same discount codes again today but they're not working for me, I think it's because I have used them once already. Anyone know any others I can use? Or even a website where I can buy it cheaper (other than ebay)? Thanks :-)

Is cosmetic dentistry reliable and right for me?
My teeth are in good shape with the exception that I have a approx. 1/4 inch gap in my upper 2 front teeth. I want to have cosmetic dentistry done, but I am a little nervous about the durability over time, and the after product. Any free dental advise would be helpful.
Is cosmetic dentistry reliable and right for me?
Each person is different, and what is right for one is not right for another. Go and visit a dentist who can give you an estimate for what you may need. Often it is a free consultation. That's what I do. I give options and let the patient decide.
A simple treatment that works sometimes is to add just a little bit of bonding in between the teeth the get them to touch each other, but you have to be careful that the teeth don't look too fat afterwards. With this bonding treatment if you don't like it, you can remove it without hurting your own tooth enamel.
Good luck
Reply:My advice is worth exactly what you are paying for it, but here goes:
If the ONLY problem you see is the small gap, then veneers are probably not a good choice. Bonding, perhaps, but not veneers which would remove a small amount of healthy tooth structure.
Please explore some alternatives, such as Invisalign, before making a final decision.
If your teeth are otherwise healthy and shaped the way you like, maybe the little gap is something unique about you. Are you really sure it bothers you enough to change it? Some little "imperfections" are very attractive. Loren Hutton (a supermodel from the 60's) made a good living with a small gap in front.

Korean cosmetic surgery?
What are the average prices for cosmetic surgery in Korea? Any recommendation for reputable surgeons?
Korean cosmetic surgery?
it all depends on which portion you are trying to do surgery on. for example, for double eye-lid, it cost about 25,000,000 won and for nose lift, it cost about 15,000,000 won.
If you have more details to discuss (for example the place, the places you would like to apply surgery), you can contact me or the following korean surgery sites:
http://www.hongsclinic.co.kr/hospital/ad...
http://www.foxps.co.kr/
Reply:25,000,000 won for a double eyelid surgery? That is more than USD $25,000!! I am sure you have the number wrong!! It doesn't even cost 1/3 of that price in U.S.!! Report It

Any cosmetic cream which can hide acne scars very dramatically?
You should try Dermablend, it comes in a wide array of colors to match your skin and it's waterproof too if used with the setting powder.
Dermablend Compact Cover Crème is an all-day foundation that achieves a beautiful natural-looking and flawless finish. It is fragrance free and sensitivity tested; ideal for even the most fragile skin.Be sure to get the setting powder as well or else the make up will come on on your clothes or if you take a shower or swim.
Remember. . . less is more with Dermablend. A little goes a long way since it has a high concentration of color; this allows you to achieve your desired coverage.
Remember the Dermablend Setting Powder must be used. If not, coverage will not be water or smudge resistant.
You can find Dermablend at most fine retail stores like Macy's,Bloomingdale's and what not and it's fairly inexpensive too.
I hope this helped...Good Luck!!! :)

Would you ever have cosmetic surgery?
would you ever have cosmetic surgery and if yes what?
would it put you off if you had to watch it being done to someone elce before you have it done?

Would you ever have cosmetic surgery?
If my b00bs would sag to my knees and my butt would sink to my ancles in the next five years, yes: probably. If I had the money, that is. Apart from that: Naaah. I always say: Act and look your age! So if you are 65, don't try to look 21. That is just scary. Besides: no matter how long you look, you are going to die in any case.
Reply:I dont think so because I think that everybody needs to stay the same way they are and people need to be happy the waty they look they can always go and make over or sumthin like that...
Reply:no i will not have one
Reply:too right i would, hold back a few years, and no it would not put me off , you see it on tele after all, is nothing sacred. yes with the cost of plastic surgery , they must all be millionaires
Reply:No.
Reply:Oh yes, I would. I love big breast, though.
Reply:NO I never would, I have also seen on the internet some really good disfigurements.......
I could never become a cosmetic surgeon as I would hate a job whereby I was making a lilving on other peoples insecurities....
Reply:Definitely! There's lots of things I'd like done, from my left eyelid being altered to my right ribs being reduced in size ever so slightly so match those on the left side. Problem is I could never afford it and I'm not entirely confident that the surgeons of this day and age could do it perfectly if at all. Be nice to have genetic modification too, so that I could pass on better looks to any children I might have - 'sins of the father' and all. After all, most people are very shallow.
Reply:I would do my breast. They are too big for my frame.
Reply:Yes, I'm considering it. I'm large chested and gravity is starting to do it's thing. Plus, I was overweight for a lot of years and over the past 2 years I've lost a lot of weight and my b00bs are a little stretched out. I'd get a reduction and lift but avoid implants. I've watched surgies and as long as I research the doctor and don't go to someone who advertising discount plasctic surgery I'd get it. Oh, and I have to save up the money. I think as long as you take sometime to think about it and you have a good overall self-image, there's nothing wrong with plastic surgery. It's when women feel the need to put something the size of a watermelon on their chest before they've barely grown into their bodies that makes me a little sad.
I'd never be a cosmetic surgeon personally, just because I think cosmetic surgeons need to be artists as well as medics and I'm really bad at precise, artistic sort of stuff, like drawing a straight line.
Reply:I'm due to come in to a large sum of money soon and it's all going to cosmetic surgery. I'm having my boobs lifted, eye bags removed, face lifted a new nose and I'll put a little money aside for anything else I may need later. The horror stories don't put me off and even if it all goes wrong I couldn't look any worse than I do now. It's a confidence boost that I've needed all my life.
Reply:pesonally no i wouldnt have cosmetic surgery (although i probably need it hehe) because im basically a wuss and would be scared of it going wrong and being left with a face etc thats worse than it was originally, yes i would be a cosmetic surgeon if i felt i was artistic enough to not make a mess of someones face but ill stick to being a trainee doctor with the goal of being a brain surgeon instead...
Reply:Depends on the situation. For vanity purpose no, because I am beautiful ^_^. For medical issues or if something was interfering with my daily life, yes!
Reply:Possibly at some point in the future, most likely just for under my eyes. But I would be afraid of them messing up and permanently ruining me.
Watching it done to someone else wouldn't affect my decision, but hearing about people whose lives were ruined might.
I could never be any type of doctor, I'm too squeamish.
Reply:omg yes yes yes if i had the money i would do everything
money cant buy you love but beauty yeah sure!!!!!
Reply:no. I intend to grow old gracefully not looking like a sad oldbag who cant accept reality n tries to turn back tome surgically. just accept what the goddess gave you people for fecks sake. beauty is skin deep, personality counts sooo much more
Reply:yeah , i dont think it would put me off watching other people having it done!
Reply:That depends on my state of mind at the time. After i had my daughter i thought everything headed south very rapidly and i was horrified. at that time i wanted a boob job, a tummy tuck and liposuction but now after a year of dieting and excersise im getting back into shape so im not quite as worried.
No it wouldnt bother me watching someone have it done, i often watch medical programs and find them highly interesting. When i had my c-section i didnt want a screen so i could see what they were doing but they refused!
Yes i would be a cosmetic surgeon i think it would be nice to make people feel better about themselves however if i was to make a mess of something i think i would be traumatised!
Reply:No-I would spend the money on four or five Caribbean cruises instead.Or one world cruise; Much better value for money

No.
Reply:Why would you think that? have you been told by someone that it would? you haven't been to bloomingdales Sherman Oaks on a Saturday afternoon and seen all the old ladies who have had plastic surgery. Their life span hasn't been shortened. I am laughing!

About cosmetic dentistry...?
I desperately want to get cosmetic work done on my teeth. I have always been really embarrassed about my smile. The problem is I can't afford to get that done.
Does anyone know of a way / a place to get it done pro bono or at least for cost in exchange for using me as a before and after example. I'd truly be a great candidate for that.
Any advice would be appreciated.
About cosmetic dentistry...?
Yes in dental hospitals you may get work done very cheaply, usually more necessary work than cosmetic but do ask.
As a student we used to do crowning,veneering,fillings,extractions,... canals on patients in our final time and its strictly supervised. It wont be just a student having a go.
Our work in our finl years was as good as any, just that we were slower and didnt get paid
Reply:You can go to colleges/universities which have students that need practice. they are under the supervision of professionals but still things can go wrong even though they are supervised. The charges are much less..but you usually still have to pay. You should look through the phone book or call some local colleges to see what they have to offer.
Reply:nice try. the problem is that everyone who pays full price is so happy with their new teeth that they all willingly go to the photographer. start saving.

Cosmetic
My girlfriend wants her cosmetic tattoo removed (eyebrows), are the risks worth it?
About a year ago she got a cosmetic tattoo on her eyebrows, and I didn't know it was a tattoo till she told me. It ended up costing her 2k for both eyebrows. They look good, but her concern is that she looks funny if she isn't wearing any makeup and now feels she has to do the full works everyday. So I'm doing a bit of research.
The pigment she has on is blackish, so thats one good thing. Some side effects are that the skin in that area can become lighter, and that the tattoo may not be able to be completely removed, and one of my main concerns is that she is diabetic and she scars ridiculously easy, a simple scrape that most of us would just shrug off as nothing can scar her at times. Her tattoo looks good, but shes uncomfortable with it so I'm looking for feedback from people who have had tattoos removed, especially cosmetic eyebrow ones. How are the results these days with the best treatments? She'll be going to the doctor to get a consultation but I'm doing some research online.

Permanent make-up isn't permanent, especially eyebrows. The cost isn't that high either, usually costing no more than $300(US) total.I would encourage her to use an exfoliating cleanser as often as possible concentrating on her eyebrows. This will remove dead skin and encourage healing. The ink should fade over time. Also another thing to remember is that when the permanent make-up is applied it will look darker and larger than the end result
Reply:support her 100%
Reply:i dnt have ne xperience for the same...
but my frnd did this before 6 mionths.... and he said there is no problem in it....
but eventhough please take physicians advice before doing that...
take care...
Reply:well personally I think if you didnt notice they were fake in the first place then they look normal. The risk are VERY VERY low, the only reason they tell you the low percentage, is so you dont sew the doctors for not telling you these risks. If she is going to be uncomfortable with them for the rest of her life then let her do t just to make her feel better. Just remind her removing tattoos leaves scar tissue damage and that may look more funny then what you are talking about. But if she is uncomfortable support her all the way. Hope everything turns out great!
Reply:If she has it removed there is still a chance of it scarring her face which would still need covering up. There are good tattoo cover up creams on the market now, you just apply it on top and the tattoo appears to be gone, then can wash it off at the end of the day. Its still a hassle i know, but perhaps less so than having to apply all her makeup :)
Reply:oh.. leave it and have tatooist do tiny eyeliner lines, top/bottom, then no more.. if eyes r done tho will blend in better with the brows, til she's really old........ but on deathbed, she'll look good, and later, mortician will love it too.........

Reply:Plastic Surgery for Teens Is Booming
Oct. 11, 2004 (San Francisco) -- American teens now account for 4% of the plastic surgery market in the U.S. -- that translates to 346,000 cosmetic procedures in the past year. But is this good medicine?
Julia Corcoran, MD, a plastic surgeon at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago, tells WebMD that plastic surgery procedures can be very good medicine for teens -- if the procedures are done for the right reasons. But just like adults, some teens have unrealistic expectations of surgery, expectations that may be fueled by televisions shows like, The Swan and Extreme Makeover.
"If a teen comes in and says that she wants to look like Brittany Spears, she is not a good candidate," says Corcoran, who spoke to pediatricians meeting at the American Academy of Pediatrics 2004 National Conference %26amp; Exhibition here. But on the other hand, "a teen that has a bump on the nose and wants the bump removed may be a good candidate for a rhinoplasty (reshaping of the nose)." Corcoran is an assistant professor of surgery at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University and is president elect of the Midwest Association of Plastic Surgeons.
She says, too, that while plastic surgery on the nose in young teens can make a big nose smaller or otherwise reshape the nose, one has to wait until the face is fully grown, usually about age 14 to 16 in girls and 15 to 17 in boys.
"We can't determine if a nose is really big until the jaw has fully grown in," she explains.
The Real Risks of Plastic Surgery
Currently, more than 257,000 of the cosmetic procedures done on teens are nonsurgical ones such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and collagen injections. "These are all procedures that are often used to treat acne scarring," Corcoran says.
The most common plastic surgery procedures in teens are done on the nose and almost 43,000 of these surgeries were done in 2003, according to data from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. The second most common plastic surgery procedure among teens is otoplasty, a procedure that reshapes ears so that they lay flat against the head. "I was surprised by otoplasty data because I consider this an operation for little boys. In girls their hair usually covers the ears, but as they reach their teens they may want to try different styles and the ears become a problem," she says.
Corcoran says that the ear repair is one surgery that is easily justified because many children are ridiculed because they have funny-looking ears. "That can lead to aggression on the part of the child, which interferes with school work and with the ability to make friends," she says. Often psychologists will refer boys to her for this surgery. She says that one boy was referred because he was having a great deal of difficulty in school and the problem was so severe that Medicaid agreed to pay for the procedure. Corcoran notes that six months after surgery the boy's mother reported that her patient was much happier in school and at home. The fighting, she says, was no longer a problem.
Yet, not all pediatricians are comfortable with the concept of plastic surgery for teens. For example, Michael Wasserman, MD, a staff pediatrician at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, tells WebMD that the risk of cosmetic surgery is often not fully understood by either the teen or the teen's parents. "There is always a risk associated with surgery and I think this needs to be clearly communicated."
While he sympathizes with children being ridiculed because their ears stick out, otoplasty is not without risk. "I had a patient who lost part of his ear because he developed an infection in the wound," he says. Wasserman notes that because the ear cartilage has poor blood supply, which is needed for proper healing, the risk of infection is significant.
On the other hand, Wasserman says that many teenaged girls may benefit from breast reduction surgery, while boys often need similar surgery to reduce gynecomastia, which the medical term for enlargement of the breasts in males. He says that in many boys this condition resolves when they go through puberty as fluctuating hormones normalize, but in some males, surgery may be needed. Girls, on the other hand, may experience back pain when their breasts are disproportionately large.
Corcoran agrees that breast reduction surgery is often warranted during the teenage years, however she says that in her practice she will not do breast augmenting surgery until the "girl is at least 19 and is living on her own, away from the parent's house. I feel this helps to confirm that the girl is making this life-changing decision on her own."
Finally, Corcoran says that parents seeking plastic surgery for their children should ask their pediatrician for a referral to a board-certified plastic surgeon.

those are a couple of the many lists on the net. most major companies do, and it's not smearing lipstick on them to make them pretty. they put these animals through horrible tests and pain. the best way to go is through your local natural food shop or co-op. Jason is a great brand, same with Kiss My Face, Alba Botanica, etc. I know Mary Kay doesn't test either. They used to, a long time ago.
Thanks for caring.

Researching cosmetic surgeons?
Where would I go to do background searches on cosmetic surgeons for feedback, comments, complaints filed, ect.? The Better Business Bureau?
Researching cosmetic surgeons?
I think you need to contact the medical board in your state to see if they are certified and for background information.

Any reputable TV producer would have provided those resources. Asking people on Yahoo!Answers = SCAM.

It is unlikely that the surgeon is expected to find his own patients-wouldn't that be the job of the producers. More information.

Can cosmetic surgery tranform you to a totally different person?
can cosmetic surgery tranform you to a totally different person? for example if i am seriously ugly and want face and body to look exactly like jessica simpson, can they do that? is this possible? i was just curious
Can cosmetic surgery tranform you to a totally different person?
I think you can definitely gain more confidence, but be sure not to let it go to your head. Don't get cocky from it.
Second, I don't think you would ever actually look like Jessica Simpson. I think you could have some of the same features, but it's still a struggle for cosmetic surgeons to make things exactly the same as somebody else.
I think you should start with one thing and see how you like it. A nose job can drastically change a person's appearance. They can look like a totally different person.
If you get too much plastic surgery your face really shows it. Parts don't move, it looks like it's been tinkered with, and it just doesn't look real. So be careful. There's actually a known condition for people that get so hooked on cosmetic surgery that they don't stop. They think they need to keep going until they look good, but they're never satisfied. In the end, they can't be operated on anymore. Their face is so frail looking and they started out looking gorgeous to begin with.
Reply:Surgery can be amazing but the more complicated the surgery to more the risk.I wouldnt have it on my face personally.Because i really dont want pete burns lips lol.

Can cosmetic surgery be an effective treatment/answer for penis enlargement? Any website references?
Most men want to enlarge their penis but don't know how or even contemplate having it done. I want a long penis. Can you recommend a cosmetic surgeon who has performed this procedure perfectly?
Can cosmetic surgery be an effective treatment/answer for penis enlargement? Any website references?
They can't make it longer, only fatter around, and they do that by injecting fat from your butt into your weiner.
Survey says most women want a fat one, not a long one. Then again, I never met a man who wanted to enlarge his penis for anything other than his own ego, so I suppose what the women want doesn't factor into this.
Reply:y do u want such a huge penis?
u know, gurls dont even like it. it hurts a lot if its too big.

What cosmetic and natural products can I use to lift the skin around my eyes?
The skin above the eyelids is starting to sag. I do not want plastic surgery but are there any natural products or cosmetic creams that can slow the process and what substances can I use to eliminate the pigmentation and also the small capillaries on my face?

Feedback on All Natural Cosmetic/Beauty Products?
Since having a baby in 2005, I have become keenly aware of all the unnecessary chemical exposure we have in the normal course of our lives. I have made many changes to my family's diet, methods for cleaning, laundering, etc. One area that is of particular interest to me is moving toward all natural cosmetic solutions. I have found several things that work well for me and I am considering trying to make and sell a small line of natural bath and beauty products.
I'd like to know before investing significant time and money how many people are out there that are also interested in this and would want to try my products. Most of the things I use on myself and my child are comprised of essential oils in a base as well as mixed with edible household ingredients for cosmetic/beauty purposes (hair and skin cleansing and moisture, makeup remover, skin exfoliation, bath perfumes/soaks).
Who else is interest in this kind of alternative to standard bath/beauty solutions? Feedback appreciated.

I definitely would be! I think the only thing that may put me off is if they were really expensive, but if you can keep the price at a reasonable level then two thumbs up!

I love natural products, but they tend to be quite expensive. If you could pull off natural AND affordable, you'd likely do well.

Is cosmetic breast , pectoral, calf, chin, buttock silicone/saline implantation right?
Just wondering were we are going with this cosmetic/plastic surgery thing. Are we using surgery to alter pyhsical appearance and thus our perceived body image, and is this not more do psychological rather than physical issues?
Is cosmetic breast , pectoral, calf, chin, buttock silicone/saline implantation right?
If you're a guy, you'll just end up looking like a tranny.
Reply:In some cases, it is used to alter and not for any genuine health concerns
Reply:No
Reply:I think its nearly all to do with psychological issues. Personally I'd never have cosmetic surgery, but don't have anything against it if it works for the person involved. Is it better for a woman to be depressed about a flat chest or to be happy with implants? If she feels more self confident with implants then fine.
At the end of the day its largely to do with self confidence in how you look - which is psychological rather than physiological.
Reply:I think it should be banned except for restorative purposes.
The people who advocate it don't want to see that e.g. a flat chest is not the problem, but a low self esteem and a resulting need to conform with the "ideals" that are the fashion of the day.
It's just another ploy to make lots of money with people's, especially women's, feelings of inadequacy, which then are projected onto a feature of their body. After a while they find out it did not really make them any happier, and go for the next operation.
Reply:i don't think it's right at all.
god made us like this and we shouldn't alter the way we were born.
for some cases, for example, chad michael-murray broke his nose and they couldn't get his nose to how it was before, so his nose was altered in the surgery.
and also scars from fires i think is fine.
but just because u think your ugly or have small boobs then it's just silly.
Reply:Not all at once
Reply:I do think it's definitely more psychological. It is also a lot more common in Western countries, where there is so much pressure from the media to look a certain way to be socially acceptable. There is also the message that, if you are fat/ugly/hairy, etc., then you must also be ugly on the inside. I have extremely low self-esteem, and had eating disorders for many years because I thought if I was too fat then people would think I was a bad person. I was wearing age 10-11 clothes when I was 22, and I'm not particularly short (!). So I can understand why there is such a high demand for it, and I don't think it's wrong, depending on your motives. But I would suggest that, to anyone considering it, ask yourself, will really change the way you feel about yourself? And, as for the people you hope you might make yourself more appealing to, are they really worth it if they care so much about the way you look?
Plastic surgery, as opposed to cosmetic surgery, is a different matter, and the two should not be confused. Plastic surgery tries to remedy the physical results of disease or injury, whereas cosmetic surgery, depending on your opinion, can enhance the way you look and give you more confidence, or change your appearance in response to psychological problems.
I can see a disturbing future where the 'beautiful' people become more and more 'perfect', and the normal people seem uglier and uglier by comparison...

How advance is cosmetic surgery?
Is it possible now days using cosmetic surgery to change the tone or color of the skin , erase acne scars , or make someone short change the height ???
how far can someone change using cosmetic surgery ...??
How advance is cosmetic surgery?
Why would you want to do that sort of extreme change? I had plastic surgery done...which was a skin graft, as a part of a skin cancer surgery I had on my sholder...mind you this was not done for cosmetic reasons....so consider this, skin tone, acne scars ect. is no big deal when one considers the real necessities people have plastic surgery for
Reply:Looking at Michael Jackson, do YOU think cosmetic surgery is really advanced?
Reply:Well look at Michael Jackson, he changed his skin color. I believe that yes cosmetic surgery can remove acne scars, but no it cannot really change height. You can REALLY change the way you look with cosmetic surgery

Can you wear cosmetic lens with a different base curve?
I wear normal contacts with 8.5 base curve and want cosmetic lens with 8.6. Is this dangerous? Also i wear 14.5 diameter and the cosmetic ones are 14.0. Is this alright too? Heres a link to the contacts i want: http://www.circlelens2u.com/145_Crystal-...
Can you wear cosmetic lens with a different base curve?
The difference in the base curve and diameter shouldn't be a problem. The measurements are well within tolerance.
The problem is that colored lenses don't always fit the way they should, even if all the measurements are identical.
There is probably only a 75 % chance that they will fit right and stay centered on your eyes.
The clear center on those lenses appear quite large though, so it may work out fine, even if they slip a bit too much.
You realize they are conventional lenses, which means you will have to do protein removal steps also in the cleaning process.
Good luck....and if you do get them, at the first signs of discomfort or redness, take them off and ditch them.
Reply:Yes, not a problem at all

Heres another with cosmetic surgery?
I had a Q bout cosmetic surgery right or wrong, someone left me an answer saying it leaves scars, I want to no what she thinks if you already have scars from previous ops, non cosmetic, does she still think its wrong?x
Heres another with cosmetic surgery?
I answered your question about having cosmetic surgery.
Yes there will be scars. My scars are on my face. Because of the location of the lesions that were removed, my doctor was able to hide my scars in the folds of my nose. No one notices them. I know where to look for them and I can't always see them.
I have a more noticeable scar on my forehead at the corner of my left eye where I had stitches as a child. I've been using mederma on that and the surgery scars and they are fading.
as for scarring, I have very fair skin and I don't scar easily or very noticeably unless it is a very bad wound or poorly done suture.
Scars are something to consider when you are thinking about a breast augmentation. Once you select a surgeon, talk to him/her about how they cut the breast to insert the implant. Different doctors have different techniques, but usually they cut around the nipple and then down under the breast and around back towards the arm (my cousin had a breast augmentation--she had hers done at the teaching hospital in Galveston, the head of the department did her surgery) He/she will have a book showcasing their work of before and after pictures for you to see. Follow the doctor's instructions EXACTLY for your after surgery care.
If you decide that right now the scarring is not worth the final appearance, then it's alright to postpone it for now.
Good Luck.

Are there any cosmetic surgery financing companies w/ loans, credit to those wanting cosmetic procedures?
Loans / Lines of credit for those wanting cosmetic procedures?
Taking down payments, as collateral , or special circumstances such as these?
Are there any cosmetic surgery financing companies w/ loans, credit to those wanting cosmetic procedures?
First a down payment is not collateral. If you qualify for a personal loan or line of credit, the lender is not going to care what you plan to use the money for, only that you will be able to make your payments.
The cosmetic surgeon may be willing and able to accept monthly payment over a period of time or to assist you in arranging financing.
Another option you should consider is making the payments first (saving up the cost) and then having the procedure.
If you suffer from a serious deformity. you may be able to find a cosmetic surgeon that will do the surgery at a reduces fee or even not cost depending on your ability to pay. Many cosmetic surgeons do a considerable amount of this type of work feeling, in part that supporting such work justifies the time they spend on elective procedures.

Can you deduct cosmetic surgery costs on income tax?
I had my sinuses cleaned out and had the surgeon also perform some cosmetic surgery on my nose at the same time. I was told some of it would be billed to insurance but wasn't coverable because of the cosmetic surgery done. Can the costs be deducted as medical expenses on income tax?
Can you deduct cosmetic surgery costs on income tax?
No, because it is an elected proceedure.
Reply:Yes.
Reply:if you meet the deduction requirements (7%? of income), any and all medical procedures are deductable.
Reply:Cosmetic surgery isn't deductible. If the insurance wouldn't cover it, neither will the IRS.
Reply:Only the sinus portion (be sure to be accurate). NOT all medical procedures are deductible!
Reply:Cosmetic/reconstructive surgery can be deducted in limited cases. In your situation, the costs to correct a defect to allow you to breathe properly would be deductable. However, the portion of the surgery to improve the appearance of the nose would not be deductable.
Reply:No, it's cosmetic - not medical
Reply:If the medically necessary part of the procedure can be split out from the cosmetic part (ask your doc if he can do this) then the medically necessary part could be deducted if you meet the other rules to deduct medical expenses (you itemize, and deduct only the portion that's over 7.5% of your income).
Cosmetic surgery is not deductible on your tax return.

How advance is cosmetic surgery?
Is it possible now days using cosmetic surgery to change the tone or color of the skin , erase acne scars , or make someone short change the height ???
how far can someone change using cosmetic surgery ...??
How advance is cosmetic surgery?
Cosmetics surgery is really advanced. There are so many modern technology that can really change the way a person look. The results may not be the best or safest but can be done. To change a person skin color usually is with over the counter products that contains lightening ingredients that can be harmful. A couple of lightening products contain mercury and some people still use it because they want a whiter complexion.
It is possible to get rid of acne scars without have cosmetic surgery but with cream, laser treatments or microdermabrasion. I have acne scars and use a combination of a peel and a cream.
In China, they actually do a cosmetic procedure to add height to a person body. This procedure is dangerous because they are stretching out the bones which are not supposed to be stretch. Some of the affects are dangerous such as the bones never grow back properly and the legs are very sore.
Personally, some cosmetics procedure as rhinoplasty, laser treatments and breast augmentation are fine but more than that is not necessary.
Reply:I wouldn't do it. Just because it's called surgrey, doesn't mean it can't go wrong and screw up your face for life. I would just cover it up with make-up, or, if you want darker skin, you could go outside and tan. Also, acne scars-that wouldn't happen if you just washed your fac daily.

Cosmetic surgery?
can cosmetic surgery for under 18 somehow adversely affect the pituatary gland of affect the height in any way? is this surgery safe for under 18 years?
Cosmetic surgery?
That's a good question for your doctor. I don't think you could trust any answer that you'd get around here.
Reply:Be specific of what body part will undergo surgery. But 18 - 20 years old should not undergo any cosmetic surgery... because its still part of growin up and there's a lot body changes... 23-24 maybe this is the appropriate time for cosmetic surgery.
Reply:I actually do not think a cosmetic surgeon would do that type of surgery on anyone that is not of age without parental consent and the MD the family uses. This is too much to try and get an answer from people on here unless you know they have a medical degree in cosmetic surgery.

Cosmetic surgery ?
has anyone ever had any type of cosmetic surgery or do you know anyone that has had it and is it painful afterwards and how much does it cost ?
Cosmetic surgery ?
A lot of people go abroad for surgeries as they are cheaper and services are good. For OZs and NZs mostly chose Asia, either Malaysia or Thailand.

Reply:Depends what kind of surgery you want. My friend had her breasts enlarged, it was about £3, 500 and she said she couldn't walk for a few days but the pain was bearable.
:)
Reply:Depends on the surgery! But expect it to cost several thousands of dollars and to not be covered by insurance.
My mom had a tummy tuck, my grandma had a face lift, two friends had nose jobs, and one friend had breast implants.
It is very painful afterwards b/c you are recovering from real surgery, you know.
Reply:Don't do it..it's not worth it unless you've been in an accident or something. If you're thinking of doing it because you simply don't like your features then don't do it.

Cosmetic Tattooing?
I am considering getting cosmetic tattooing on my eyelids for eyeliner, mainly just the bottom lids..
does it hurt?
how long does it last (some sites say it fades after 2 yrs) ?
is it good?
anyone know of anygood places in Sydney?
Cosmetic Tattooing?
I only know of one person who had cosmetic tattoing, and though I am unaware of where she got it done (it was in the states), it looked abfab!! It was positively gorgeous! She had eyeliner and lipliner both and i think something else, but cant remember...anyways, it looked really pretty on her and she was also darker skinned. And she said it didnt hurt and on the days she felt she wanted to be different, she just put real make-up on over it, and if her real make-up faded, no worries bc there was her tattoo underneath it! I think it would be something cool for somebody else, not for me though. I am glad you're looking for answers before you make a decision!

Cosmetic surgery?
i was just wondering what everyone's opinion on cosmetic surgery is.
im planning on getting it when i am of age, not to look fake but just to feel better about myself.
Cosmetic surgery?
Each of us has a "self-image," a perception of how we believe we look to others. People who are happy with their self-image are more likely to be self-confident, effective in work and social situations, and comfortable in their relationships.
No matter what type of plastic surgery you're considering, the most important factor in its success is the surgeon you choose.
I had breast aumentation in Octobre 2004, I am so happy with the results.
