my ears are very sensitive and i lost my good sterling silver hoops among all my other cosmetic hoops. How do i differ the two types? is sterling silver attracted to something that cosmetic jewelry would not? etc.

sterling silver will have a very small stamp somewhere that says .925, fine silver will have a.999 and if they are plated the stamp will have a P on the end or no stamp at all.
