Army doing cosmetic surgry?
Yes the Military does do some elective plastic surgery.

And yes even a spouse can be eligible.

But, it is not done as a routine and it is done on a space available prioritized basis.

Most Brest implants are for breast cancer survivors and right now most plastic surgery is actually reconstructive surgery.

Reply:I don't know about spouses, but soldiers can get one elective surgery on the Army's dime. They have to prove that it would improve their morale. Most people that use this program probably do so to get laser eye surgery.
Reply:Definatly not their spouses. If the spouse isn't in the military why should they enjoy the benefits?
Reply:Only if they had breast cancer, massive weight loss or a accident that destroyed the breast. You wont get a boob job just for the fun of it.
Reply:a very small number of MTFs offer this on a SPACE A basis only. it is to keep the surgeons certified and their skills sharp.

Generally speaking, the waiting list is often 2 years or longer, and you must go through a lot of paperwork and referrals first. ALSO.. TRICARE doesn't cover io, the Hospital does, so there will be out of pocket costs..only the actual surgery is free..meds, anesthesia, pre and post op care and the..inserts.. are out of pocket.
