Is anyone aware of any cosmetic surgeons in the Atlanta, GA area who do certain procedures pro bono (or at least at a reduced rate)? I don't mean totally superficial stuff (face lifts, nose jobs, etc.), but surgeries to remove excess skin after having gastric bypass surgery.
Pro bono cosmetic surgery?
Woah, poisoneva007, you're one angry girl! I'm sure there was no offence intended in the question!
There are plastic surgeons who do work for burn/accident/crime victims, but unfortunately removing excess skin wouldn't be regarded as "essential" surgery. Nonetheless, get in touch with the national cosmetic surgeons board or the plastic surgeons board and check with them.
If you've lost that much weight, congratulations, and I hope you manage to get rid of that excess skin!
Reply:Oh, so people who have had rhinoplasty and breast implants are superficial? Maybe the 'superficial' people consider the gastric bypass recipients to be pigs with no self-control who wouldn't have needed surgery in the first place if they could just control their eating habits. And the answer is no, plastic surgeons do not perform 'pro bono' procedures such as excess skin removal, they are in the business of making money.
Reply:Get liposuction surgery in India.Cosmetic Surgery is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges cosmetic surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.
I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance or by NHS in UK.They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible.
As a doctor i personally believe that your cosmetic surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.If you still havent got your surgery done, you are better off getting it done in India.
my cousin got her breast reduction/liposculpture/buttoc... lift surgery in India after massive weight loss due to gastric bypass surgery through the forerunners healthcare.she is more than very happy with the results.she just paid 30% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise fore this forerunners healthcare company.i personally have seen the wondeful results and am particularly impressed with the kind of quality care she got from this company

Reply:wishdelish sounds like a jealous fatty also. I bet you didn't like it when people judged you for your weight, maybe you should think about your stupid comments...like calling people who have nose jobs superficial. Besides, I'd rather be with a woman who has had five nose jobs, three face lifts and fake breasts than some jiggly, squishy, former fattie with loose skin dangling off of her any day.
